The ringed jar with lid (2002:06:01) was donated to the Fine Arts Collection by Ed Traynor, a professional potter who lives in California. Traynor studied with Wildenhain at her Pond Farm summer workshops. The jar was created in 1956 or 1957 in the Pond Farm studio pottery and purchased by the donor. Traynor created and contributed his “Ode to Marguerite” lidded jar to the Pond Farm Collection in 2002.

The stoneware tile (2003:08:01) decorated with the figures of Peruvian women in the market was created about 1966 shortly after Wildenhain returned from a visit to Peru. It was donated to the Fine Arts Collection by Al Johnsen, a professional ceramics artist living in Washington. Johnsen created and contributed his “Airplane Teapot” to the Pond Farm Collection in 2002.

The wheel-thrown stoneware sculpture (2008:03:01) self-portrait of Marguerite Wildenhain was given to the Fine Arts Collection by Carol McFarlan. McFarlan was a student of Wildenhain at her Pond Farm summer workshops. Wildenhain created the sculpture after she saw a reflection of herself in the night-darkened window as she was preparing for bed.
