Biography
Mary Barrett exhibited her engraving, "Falling Man," at the Print/Watercolor/Drawing Show
in the Fine Arts Festival of December 7 – 17, 1966. Barrett received her BA from Michigan State University,
MS from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. From 1963-1991 she was
a professor of Art specializing in printmaking at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. After retiring,
she continued to be an active artist and exhibitor.
Barrett participated in numerous exhibitions during her career in venues such as the Philadelphia Print Club, The
Society of American Graphic Artists, and the Suzanne Kohn Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition, she
has created commissions for recital halls and theatres at the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building at the University of
Wisconsin, River Falls.
