Biography

Paul Biorn had two paintings which were exhibited in Fine Arts Festivals which at Luther College. Still Life No. 2 was exhibited at the Oil/Polymer Painting Show held was held March 10–20, 1967. Landscape was shown at the Oil/Polymer Show, March 10-30, 1968. These paintings were created while he was a member of the faculty in the Art Department at Luther College.

Biorn was born in 1940. He received his MA in 1965 and his MFA in 1966 from the University of Iowa. After leaving Luther in 1968, Biorn taught at Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, until 1978. During his time there, he exhibited frequently at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota State at Brookings, and North Dakota State at Fargo.

After leaving Northern State College, Biorn changed direction and started an alternate energy wind and solar business. After 1980, he worked for the K.O. Lee Co, an industrial machinery manufacturer. He moved to Fairport, New York as their representative for New York State. He and his family moved back to St. Cloud, Minnesota in 1992. Biorn died in St. Cloud in 1999.

In correspondence kept in the Fine Arts Collection files, Paul Biorn indicated he is a relative of the noted Norwegian-American artist, Emil Biorn, also represented in the Fine Arts Collection.
