Biography
Harold Krisel was born October 6, 1920. He studied art in New York City and architecture in Chicago. He worked for a number of years as an architectural designer. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1949 and 1951 and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Annual in 1954. He was known as an abstractionist painter and printmaker. Krisel died October 18, 1995.
Krisel’s print, “Horizon with Red,” was exhibited in the exhibit which accompanied one of the Fine Arts Festivals held in 1966. It is not known if the exhibit was part of the Festival held April 17-30, 1966 or December 7-17, 1966. The print has been missing since 1986. No image of the print is available.
