Biography

 

Jane Kemp worked as a librarian at the Alaska State Library and Juneau Public Library before joining the faculty librarians at Preus Library in 1981.  During her time at Luther College, she has been responsible for Circulation, Public Services, and Rare Books and Special Collections.  With the other librarians, she provides reference service, library instruction and is a liaison to several academic departments for collection development purposes.  Most recently, she has served as department head for the library department.  In addition, she is the Supervisor of the Fine Arts Collection, overseeing management of the visual arts owned by the College.   She also teaches in the College’s Paideia I program, an interdisciplinary English-History course for first-year students.
