The original art gallery posters in this named collection were donated to Luther College by Mrs.
Ida M. Fosso, wife of Olaf John Fosso, Luther College alumnus of 1930. The eleven posters were
donated in 1972 but were created between 1951 and 1966 by the Galerie Maeght. The Fosso family
also donated funds for the Fosso Endowment for the purchase of books relating to American history
for Preus Library. Olaf John Fosso, who was the president of the Standard Office Machine Corporation
of Detroit, Michigan, died in 1970.
