Outdoor Sculptures at Luther College

Four outdoor sculptures are included in the Luther College Fine Arts Collection. Their diverse stylistic range includes the classic realism of the “Martin Luther” statue, the expressionism of “Oedipus and Antigone,” the abstract modernism of “Elegy #10,” and the eccentric folk influences of the “Pioneer Memorial.” The fact that such disparate works of art can co-exist on the same campus reflects an appreciation for the school's liberal arts traditions and recognizes efforts to diversify the educational experience for future students.
